Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how BluWorld collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the BluWorld iOS application. By using the App, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information we collect
Account and profile information
- Name and email address — When you create an account (for example via email, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In), we collect the identifiers and profile details needed to operate your account.
- Profile content — Information you add to your profile, such as display name, photo, and preferences you choose to save.
Find friends using your device contacts (optional)
If you choose to use find-friends features and grant Apple's Contacts permission, the App may read information from your address book that iOS exposes, such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, and contact photos.
For the find-friends matching flow in our current App build, we use contact email addresses and certain name information in read-only queries; we do not send your contacts' phone numbers to our servers for that matching.
- On your device — The App uses this information locally to suggest people you may know who already use BluWorld.
- Matching queries — To check whether someone in your contacts has a BluWorld account, the App sends read-only database requests (for example to Google Firebase / Firestore) that may include normalized email addresses and, in some cases, full-name strings as query parameters. We do not store your complete contact list on our servers as an archive.
- What we do not do — We do not sell your contact list, use it for unrelated third-party advertising, or make your address book browsable by other users.
Location data
If you grant permission, we collect latitude and longitude to power features such as the interactive map, event discovery, and location-based experiences.
Social data
- Friendships and requests — Records of friendships, friend requests, blocks, and related interactions needed for social features.
User content
- Messages — Stored as needed to deliver in-app chat.
- Photos and videos — Profile pictures and media you choose to upload or share.
- Audio — Processed when you use microphone-based features.
- Gameplay — Progression data such as adventure points, 3D collectibles, and completed adventures where those features exist.
Identifiers and usage data
- Account and device identifiers — User IDs and tokens for authentication, security, and push notifications (for example Firebase Cloud Messaging).
- Product interaction — Usage information such as app launches and feature usage to maintain and improve the App.
Diagnostics
We may collect technical logs and crash reports to diagnose bugs and improve stability.
2. How we use information
We use information for purposes including:
- Providing the App — Operating accounts, maps, events, social features, chat, and gameplay.
- Personalization — Recommending content or experiences where those features exist.
- Safety and integrity — Enforcing our terms and protecting users.
- Analytics and improvement — Understanding how features are used.
- Legal compliance — Complying with applicable law and lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not share your contact list with advertisers as an address-book upload product.
4. International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
5. Retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Contact-based processing is described in Section 1; we do not retain your full address book on our servers as part of the find-friends flow.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Children's privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete certain personal information, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, or lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
In the App and on your device
- Use in-app settings to manage profile and notifications where available.
- Use Settings → BluWorld on iOS to revoke permissions (Contacts, Location, Camera, Microphone, Photos, and others). Revoking Contacts stops the App from reading your address book for find-friends features.
